Threat Management - First Thoughts
Threat - an expression of intention to inflict evil, injury, or damage - one that threatens - an indication of something impending.
I intend to explore how it is possible to manage various threats so they may be overcome or even dismissed out of hand. While there is a threat of a global nuclear war, for example, this is not the level of topic I'll address. There are just some things that an individual can do very little to lessen and there are many sources for information on building bomb shelters (and wearing tin foil headgear).
Instead, here I'll focus on what may be more mundane but also much more likely events that one may encounter and then some commentary on how to be prepared for these events. Knowledge is always good and can often turn a threat into an inconvenience or allow it to be avoided altogether. Consider some situations that you may encounter while going through life, perhaps a vehicle accident, a snarling dog, a "bad guy" with a knife, even inclement weather all require some kind of response - if you can manage the threat, you can move through it. Inaction in the face of a threat comes from uncertainty and that originates from no knowledge and no preparation.
My intent is that those who visit here, over time will not be frozen from inaction. Instead, when faced with a threat, you will manage it through action. This will be my primary subject, though I am sure that other random thoughts will creep in from time to time.
If any of this makes you think, then you have started your journey.
