The 51% Rule

This bit of advice came from someone else but has had such a positive impact that I thought I would share it. Consider any decision where you have a choice as to whether you will be involved or avoid it - for most, this wouldn't include going to work or perhaps even exercise, as we may not want to do either but it is to our ultimate benefit that we do so.
Rather, this might be an invitation to do something, an idea to go somewhere, some item being considered for purchase. Things and events that are supposedly for you to enjoy. Will you? If not, of course, you'd pass. Right? Usually not. People seem to often do things they don't want to do yet continue out of some kind of obligation or other self-generated reason. Instead, just apply an easy rule to whatever it may be and the decision will have already been made. If you choose to do whatever it is or buy whatever it is, will you get at least 51% enjoyment out of it?
The usually boring group of people you regularly meet with and leave thinking it just isn't that much fun - why do it again? If you have a choice, then it is your choice alone. Choose for yourself to have at least 51% happiness in what you are doing. Let others live withe the 50% and below events. Consider applying this rule and live life a bit more for yourself and a lot less for others.
