Wolf Knowledge - Patience
The ability to be patient does not come up much when first learning all of the things that move a person from one of the herd to one of the self-sufficient and ultimately one of the dangerous if a situation requires it. While this learning process does go on for a lifetime, there will be some point where you will be at least capable enough to defend yourself and will have realized that you have that capability. Not an expert but far beyond the common sheep and average thug. As each season passes, as more techniques are grasped, as ability increases, it becomes necessary to learn and practice yet another skill - patience.
The capabilities you possess will attract all manner of stupid. The solution for the stupid (at least initially) must be patience. Idiots will seem to appear with alarming regularity and, while it might be considered an interesting exercise to soundly thrash them, it is also unnecessary and will prove damaging to any nearby furnishings and needlessly stain and otherwise dirty your personal weapons. It is patience that may let these situations pass away. There really is no threat - if you so decide, so there is nothing that needs to be done. It is both an easy solution (patience) and yet one that can be spectacularly frustrating. A sheep can bleat and stamp the ground and act indignant and be a baseless uncouth lout. Wolves don't operate at that basement level of childishness. No matter the degree of patience you exhibit, that becomes your only exhibition, despite a deep and understandable desire to just not tolerate fools.
One aspect of patience is that it can suddenly just cease because there will be some limit of just how patient one can be. At that moment, things tend to become ugly and the more wolf traits you have ingrained into yourself, the more likely it will get very, very ugly in a hurry. A possible solution is not only to cultivate patience but also work on some means to let go of the rage that your patience is controlling. Relax, think coldly can carefully, go away if you determine that is a tactically sound move, drop out of the situation. Yes, this should be considered a type of warning that you were close to your limit of toleration, which you will recognize and it's possible the stupid will recognize as well (though, unfortunately, not often likely).
Those of us who get better at injuring others have to exercise some basic control over our skills and ultimately our inner nature. Please consider this concept even if you've not yet reached the point where you need it, because at some point you definitely will need it. The alternative can mean you shoot and stab a lot of stupid people and still not really solve any problem, since stupid will just keep showing up. Being a wolf is not free, the ability to control the rage that comes with it can take a great deal of work.
