Wolf Knowledge - Just Shut Up

While I used this same topic title with threat management, that was to explain its usefulness. With the prefix of wolf knowledge, it is presented to one who is well armed, trained and has a full understanding of taking care of problems. With this preconception, we can use the idea of non-responsiveness to threats as a viable way to upset their thinking process in situations where it is important to get an opening to attack, or saying nothing can be deliberately used to irritate the threat when one wants to escalate the encounter without appearing to do so.

An example of this type of situational control through antagonizing the threat with your own inaction can be helpful in a public area where there are police or security present. You say nothing, the threat gets mad and starts yelling and police or security focus on the threat. You've done nothing, so you get to fade away. In fact, though, you controlled the entire series of events and the threat didn't even realize it. This series of actions can have risks, of course, but if the threat decides to start a physical altercation, that is no different than what could have happened anyway.

Saying nothing, having no response will also by its very nature make other people extremely nervous. It has been my experience that anyone who trains as a warrior and moves through life as a wolf will tend to be intimidating to most other people. Staring at a problem (the kind of problem that is breathing) while not responding to them has a tendency to both bother their nerves and intimidate them. These very quickly go to fear. You'll have the threat afraid. Granted, that can mean they will strike out from that fear - where again, you'll be right into the attack situation, but you'll be working from a position of calm self-assurance while the threat is just scared and not thinking - or the threat will back up because of that fear, and the problem is then solved without making a big mess.

Ideally, you can use the intimidation of a wolf with the silence of the grim reaper to completely unnerve whoever is thinking they can accost you and hope to control the outcome of the encounter. While you wouldn't let them control anything anyway, sometimes saying nothing will give you additional advantages and different options for how you choose to direct the situation. Just choose carefully and then, when your opening presents itself, you can always utterly destroy the threat. This tactic of just saying nothing is a good option to keep in mind.
